release of the woman on the ground that she was his wife married in accordance with a form adopted by Russian Jews. These did not avail and after the passing of the Ordinance referred to above I decided to intern the woman as a suspect in the charge of the authorities of the Italian Convent who

have kindly consented to take charge of her.

It was not possible to prosecute her for

possession of the false passport as she was not found in

possession of it within the jurisdiction of our Courts and

was brought within the jurisdiction by force.
